Central Florida Cupcake Battle - We took home 3rd PLACE!!!!!
I can not tell you how static, stoked, excited & blown away - we are that we placed in the TOP 3!!!! We entered the 1st Annual Central Florida Cupcake Battle Charity Event - as the ONLY - Gluten Free, Sugar Free, Low Carb, Keto Approved & Diabetic Friendly Cupcake.
Let me tell you a little about the Charity first... Pieces To Peace Counseling offers a full range of affordable Mental Health counseling services including both individual and group sessions. They are doing amazing things for Polk County, FL! Check out this Bay 9 News Story HERE.
The Rules & Points: We were competing based on taste, texture & decorations. (There was some confusion on decorations - contestants got slightly mixed up on whether decorations were supposed to be Mental Health Awareness Related or Fall Decorated. We did both (just in case!).
Our Keto Friends may understand that taste & texture is different - we use only the finest ingredients in our cakes & cupcakes...finely sifted almond flour, organic coconut flour, gluten free baking powder and organic Monk Fruit / Erythritol Sweetener - keeping in mind that we don't have full range of flavor options that "regular" bakeries do. It may be hard to convince a NON Ketoer that our Sugar Free treats are just as tasty; but not this time!
We decided to do our Pumpkin Cake with Cream cheese Filling - decorated with our Sugar Free Cream Cheese Icing. (Didn't Jen do an amazing job on the decorating?!?! - Pumpkin Pies, Brains, Pumpkin, Acorn, Mummy & Sunflower).
We really enjoyed our few hours on the Westside of Florida yesterday! The weather turned out amazing - sunny, high of only 74 with a slight breeze!
The competition came from all over Central Florida - bakeries that had some of the cutest cupcake cakes, with amazing decorations.
